Designed to satisfy the tastes of a certain non-tacky bourgeoisie—hence its name—it was an alternative to the typical coffee tables of the time, with turned wood, faux bamboo, stainless steel and methacrylate, or overly elaborate gilded designs. The warmth of the wood made it somehow “bourgeois”. 

The table consisted of parallelepiped modules measuring 40 x 40 x 80 cm, with transparent tops and bases and sides finished in fine wood. These modules could be combined to achieve various sizes and were designed to store books or magazines inside. 

We created the first unit for the home of Toni López Lamadrid, on the ground floor of the La Balsa restaurant. We made it large, measuring 160 x 120 cm, with five modules.
