Lothar Cremer
A variation of the Varius chair that I designed to replace those in the Palau de la Música (which were no longer originals by Doménech). The sloped floor of the stalls in the Palau led me to design an interesting leg that adapts to different inclinations.
Cremer's advice was fundamental. The seat features a Helmholtz resonator on its underside, which allows, when raised, to provide the same level of absorption as a person, so the reverberation time of the room is barely affected when it is not fully occupied. This auditorium model was installed in over 50 locations across Spain, including the Senate's courtroom.
