The urban layout, planned by Joan Antoni Solans, envisioned multi-family buildings facing a promenade and single family homes on one of the perpendicular streets.
The buildings in height have a very urban, formal, and symmetrical front façade, with repetitive picture windows, no terraces, and a single entrance under a wide, lowered arch. Instead, the rear façade is much more free, with large terraces that reflect the individuality of the owners. From the floor layout of these apartments –one of the best I’ve ever planned– it is worth highlighting the diagonal view that begins in the living room at the front, crosses the entrance hall, and culminates in the interesting space of indefinite use (dining room, ironing room, children’s play area...) connected to the kitchen and the spacious terrace.
Although these were relatively affordable homes, I managed to have the arch keystones and the capitals of the pilasters shaped by the sculptor Juan Bordes.
The single-family homes form a unified façade along the sidewalk.
