Casas and GV Estudio
One of the very few glass tables with a central base, which is undeniably the most comfortable and allows the greatest freedom in seating arrangements.
Initially, we designed it in wood (the version in MoMA's collection is made this way), but it experienced deformations, so we reimagined it in cast aluminum. With just three different pieces forming the central base, we achieved tabletops of various shapes and sizes.
On the long tables the curved sides facilitated visibility among diners, and the rounded edges softened the aggressiveness of the glass on the corners.
The glass was screen-printed with a geometric motif that made it visible and concealed the always unpleasant view of legs underneath.
