A Tabernacle in the Shape of a Pyramid. Its faces covered in leather, rough and masculine on the outside, delicate and feminine on the inside. At its peak, a shining pyramidion. Its base, a luminous pavement, with light filtering through the holes that form four stars.
The Starry Pyramid is the response to the invitation to participate in the great Homo Faber exhibition held in Venice from 14th to 30th September 2018. Michele de Lucchi selected eight designers from various European countries. The high level of this selection was what motivated me to accept the invitation with enthusiasm.
Each of us had to choose a material and an artisan who would share the authorship of the object. I chose leather and Pere Ventura, an exceptional saddler with whom I had the pleasure of working on the Gaulino chair. De Lucchi asked us for a precious box, a tabernacle that would contain its own light.
As always, I faithfully adhered to the proposed theme.
