I knew of historical sources where water flowed from various anatomical orifices: mouths, breasts, and even a penis. But none where it flowed from the eyes. None that wept inconsolably. It is Daphne, whose hair is already turning into plant life, who does so. I modelled the face (which resembles Anna's), Juan Bordes did the hair, and Toni Cumella transformed it into this beautiful stoneware piece from which, drop by drop, tears flow over the pond in our garden.
