The friend Joan Antoni Solans, who dictated the urban planning policy of Barcelona for many years and later that of Catalonia, had reached an agreement with the developer Núñez y Navarro regarding the plot of land he owned, which bordered the Parc de Sentmenat. The plot was to be ceded to the park on the condition that a strip of housing could be built along its perimeter, along the Torrent de Can Caralleu. Additionally, the building was to be interrupted to allow access to the park, following an old path.
Following Solans' guidelines, we designed a series of townhouses facing this steep street-stream. A complex fan-shaped layout, where each section had to be stepped one meter back from the adjacent one. In order not to destroy the sidewalk with an uninterrupted succession of driveways, we created a street for private garage access inside the building (the project's great success). The living rooms open to the park through a small private garden.
