Pompeian references

Delfi. Treasure in Athens

The Doric portico of Villa Andrea took as its reference the Treasury of the Athenians at Delphi, but then I discovered the Casa di Meleangro, a Pompeian Villa, with a pair of antiquated Greek Doric columns. Novelty in art is a silly impossibility.

Our home and my studio, located in the upper part of the city. A simple three-story cube. Our living space is on the ground floor, directly connected to the garden. The first and second floors, organized around a double-height space, housed our studio until the 2008 crisis. The layout of the ground floor, which is very symmetrical, is a tribute to Andrea Palladio. At its center, the large living room-library-studio.
