The two upper floors, along with the semi-basement of this building, were intended to house our architecture and design studio, while my residence occupied—and still occupies—the ground floor. A double-height space, illuminated by a large north-facing window and a skylight in its center, was the heart of the studio. On the wide table in this space we made models. In each of the perimeter "chapels," a different project was developed. My office, Carles Díaz's, the secretarial office, the library, and the design and prototype workshop were located on the upper floor. The IT department, which in those years worked with much independence from the rest of the studio, was located in the semi-basement. Upstairs we worked on preliminary designs, and downstairs on executive projects. In these spaces, we worked in perfect harmony, with about 35 people. This arrangement lasted from 1992 until the 2008 crisis, which forced us to make a painful reduction in staff and rent out the space.
