Arquitecturas y Demás

Auditorio Alfredo Krauss, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, 2010

What is an artist’s main activity? We might ask the question having seen how Oscar Tusquets has revealed his fondness for painting as a way of expressing his creativity.
We all knew Tusquets the architect, an architect who is as imaginative and daring as he is respectful of the past, the architect who left his highly personal stamp on the Palau de la Música in Barcelona.
This same architect has now left his stamp on the new hall for the Auditorio Alfredo Kraus, in a way that not only promotes its integration into the rest of the complex, but which furthermore constitutes a bench-mark for advanced construction in which the dominant concerns are quality and functionality, as well as the comfort of the audience.
